Player protection
Keep It Fun. Keep It Controlled.
Competitions are entertainment, not a way to make money or solve financial problems. Decide your budget before entering and use the controls below whenever play stops feeling comfortable.
1. Adults only
You must be 18 or over to open an account or enter. We collect date of birth and may request proportionate age or identity evidence. Accounts that appear to belong to a child are blocked while we investigate. Our marketing must not target children or present competitions as a route to financial security, status or escape from personal problems.
2. Monthly spending limits
Every customer account has a monthly spending limit. You can review monthly activity, reduce the limit immediately or request a higher limit subject to a cooling-off period. The checkout prevents an order that would exceed the active limit. Choose an amount you can comfortably lose without affecting bills, savings or other people.
Do not borrow to enter, chase a previous loss, treat a prize as expected income or increase a limit in response to urgency. Ticket limits and countdowns describe availability; they should not decide your budget.
3. Pause and self-exclusion
Your account controls let you block checkout and competition entry for a chosen period or permanently. A six-month or permanent self-exclusion cannot be overridden while active. Shorter pauses are also available for customers who want an immediate break. Contact support if you cannot access the control or want help closing an account.
Unsubscribe from marketing using any email’s unsubscribe link and remove social accounts from your feed if seeing promotions makes a break harder. Technical controls are useful, but they work best alongside support from someone you trust.
4. Warning signs
Take a break and seek support if you are spending more than planned, hiding entries, borrowing, entering to recover money, feeling anxious or irritable, neglecting work or relationships, or finding it difficult to stop. If you are in immediate danger or at risk of harming yourself, call 999 or go to A&E.
5. Free, independent support
- GamCare offers confidential information and support around gambling-related harm.
- National Debtline provides free, independent debt advice.
- Citizens Advice explains options for debt and money problems.
- Samaritans provides confidential emotional support; call 116 123 free in the UK and Ireland.
These organisations are independent of Boony. Linking to them does not mean they endorse our competitions.
6. Fairness, monitoring and concerns
Competition pages show price, ticket supply, entry limits, closing information, prize details and the relevant entry mechanism. Our Trust Centre explains how entry snapshots, automated draws and public verification work. Paid and valid free entries receive equal treatment where a free route is offered.
We review patterns such as repeated limit contact, rapid or unusual spending, payment changes, self-exclusion and staff interactions where they may indicate harm or account misuse. We may contact a customer, apply a restriction or stop further entry where a proportionate intervention is needed.
If a control fails or you believe a competition or advertisement was unfair, use our contact page . Include the competition and account details so we can preserve and review the relevant evidence.
